About ILLA

My Journey

I had everything but didn’t have what I truly wanted as a child. My narcissistic mother supported my education, providing me with all the resources I needed to succeed.

At first, it seemed like love, the kind that normal parents offer.

Yet, despite her material support, she never celebrated my achievements.

There were no rewards or genuine expressions of happiness. Instead, her focus was on garnering compliments for her efforts.

After each success, I felt isolated and unappreciated.

My Fight and Victory

I fell into depression when I was 15, prompting me to seek ways to cope and heal. By chance, I learned about the concept of a narcissistic mother, and I immersed myself in research for the next two years.

It became clear that my mother exhibited traits of a covert narcissist, and I began to understand the profound impact of her behavior.

I also recognized that my brother, who I once confided in, displayed similar covert narcissistic signs. This revelation led me to observe my mother and others through this new lens, uncovering traits I hadn’t noticed before.

However, it wasn’t until I turned 26 that I truly grasped the full extent of her manipulative games and the dynamics at play.

Feeling trapped, I resolved to take action rather than remain a victim of my circumstances. I began to develop responses based on my experiences, and with each step, I felt my power grow.

I started noticing more covert narcissist signs and discovering new ways to save my life.

I kept fighting until I finally felt like a winner. Their tactics no longer influence me; I’m independent, successfully pushing them away.

“True healing begins when you stand up and fight for your worth.”

I took my pain and turned it into purpose

Behind the Book

Originally, this book started as a personal reminder for myself—a way to navigate the complexities of dealing with the narcissists in my life.

I found that writing down my thoughts and experiences helped me process my emotions and stay grounded amidst the chaos.

As I continued to reflect and gather insights, I realized that my notes could help others understand their experiences with vulnerable narcissists.

I decided to transform my reflections into a book to share the lessons I had learned and provide a guide for those who may feel lost.
